Philosophy and Approach
Lindsay Calderon Urbina, a warm, compassionate therapist who creates a safe, supportive space where clients feel genuinely heard and understood. She recognizes the strength it takes to begin therapy and brings empathy, authenticity, and a deep sense of care to each session. Lindsay is committed to helping clients develop self-compassion, strengthen resilience, and move toward personal growth and well-being. Her therapeutic approach blends cognitive-based strategies with attachment-focused work and the client-centered warmth of Rogerian therapy. Lindsay works collaboratively with each individual, helping them explore patterns, build self-awareness, and develop practical tools for lasting change—all within a trusting, supportive relationship.
Areas of Expertise
Lindsay works with individuals of all ages, including adults, families, and children (ages five and up), supporting them through various emotional and relational challenges. She helps clients navigate anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, life transitions, and relationship concerns. With children and teens, she also addresses school-related stress, peer relationships, and parent-child dynamics. Lindsay works closely with parents to develop practical, long-term strategies that support their child’s growth and success at home and school. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based—focusing on each person’s unique abilities and inner resilience. She helps clients build confidence by identifying and expanding on their strengths, improving communication, deepening self-awareness, and resolving conflict in healthy, constructive ways. Whether working with children, adults, or families, Lindsay Calderon Urbina aims to support strong connections, emotional resilience, and meaningful, lasting change.
Creating Meaningful Change
Lindsay is passionate about supporting clients in creating meaningful and lasting change. She offers a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where individuals feel safe exploring their experiences, reflecting on their personal stories, and developing healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating to others. Her work is grounded in a strengths-based perspective, helping clients recognize and build on their abilities, inner resilience, and personal values. Lindsay tailors her approach to each individual’s needs, drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness practices, and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). She is also trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Play Therapy approaches, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and the Circle of Security Parenting program.
