Our Individual Therapy sessions offer personalized support for emotional, psychological, and behavioural needs. Collaborating with our therapists, clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe environment. This therapeutic relationship fosters insight, coping strategies, and personal growth.

Parent Consultation

Our Parent Consultations empower parents and caregivers with tools and strategies to support their child’s emotional and behavioral development. These sessions complement therapy for children and adolescents, focusing on effective communication, setting boundaries, and nurturing environments.

Family Therapy

Our Family Therapy Sessions focus on communication and conflict resolution within the family unit. Creating a supportive and nurturing environment, all family members can express needs and concerns. Therapists address underlying issues and promote open dialogue.

Child & Adolescent Therapy

Tailored to the unique needs of children and teenagers, our Child & Adolescent Therapy considers developmental stages, social environments, and individual experiences. This therapy often includes therapeutic play, creative expression, and interactive techniques.

Couples Therapy

Couples Therapy at Journey Psychology improves communication and resolves conflicts within relationships. Providing a safe space, our therapists help couples express feelings, understand perspectives, and build stronger bonds. Therapists are trained in modalities such as the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Virtual Therapy Services

Accessible from home, our Virtual Therapy Services provide the same care and support as in-person sessions. Distance is not a barrier, ensuring continuity of therapy.

Our Fees

At Journey Psychology, our fees follow the guidelines set by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. Each clinical session is 50 minutes in length, with an additional 10 minutes allocated for documentation and related tasks. The standard fee for each session is $235.00.

We offer flexible payment options for your convenience, including:

– Credit card

– Debit card

– Cash

We understand that financial circumstances can vary. That’s why we offer a sliding scale fee option to ensure that cost is not a barrier to care. If this is something you’d like to explore, please feel free to ask when booking your session.

Direct Billing

We understand that navigating insurance can feel overwhelming. At Journey Psychology, we aim to reduce that stress by offering direct billing to many major insurance providers—so you can focus on your mental health, not the paperwork.

We currently offer direct billing to:
– Alberta Blue Cross
– Canada Life
– Green Shield
– Manulife
– Desjardins
– Medavie Blue Cross (including Veterans Affairs, RCMP, and CAF)
– ClaimSecure
– Industrial Alliance
– And more

If your provider supports direct billing, we’ll submit claims on your behalf after each session. All you need to do is bring your insurance card or policy details to your first appointment, we’ll take care of the rest.

A few things to keep in mind:
– Coverage varies depending on your individual plan. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm your benefits for sessions with a Registered Psychologist or Masters-level clinician.
– If your plan does not allow direct billing, or if a claim is denied, you’ll be responsible for payment at the time of your session. In these cases, we’ll provide a detailed receipt so you can submit it manually for reimbursement.
– Direct billing is offered as a courtesy service, and while we do our best to make the process smooth, we cannot guarantee coverage or approval from your insurer.

Cancellation Policy

At Journey Psychology, we understand that life can be unpredictable, and circumstances may arise that require you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. To best accommodate all of our clients, we kindly ask for 48 hours notice for any changes to your scheduled appointment.

Providing us with advance notice allows us to offer your appointment slot to another client who may be on our waiting list. We strive to ensure that everyone has timely access to the care they need.

We recognize that there may be occasions when 48 hours notice is not possible due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will be considered a late cancellation and may be subject to a cancellation fee.
