Kristen’s therapeutic philosophy is rooted in a person-centered approach that emphasizes individual empowerment and growth. By recognizing the uniqueness of each client, Kristen demonstrates a commitment to tailoring her therapeutic methods to individual needs. She also has extensive experience helping clients adapt to the unique challenges of Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA) and individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Kristen also has experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures, allowing her to provide culturally sensitive and individualized care to each person she works with.
Creating Meaningful Change
Kristen is passionate about working with adults and adolescents to help them cope with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, depression, and other life struggles. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based therapeutic practices to support clients on their personal path to increased wellness. As an EMDR certified therapist, Kristen offers specialized trauma treatment. She also draws from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, solution-focused therapy (SFT), and narrative therapy. Kristen’s approach to creating change is rooted in empowering clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop effective coping skills, and build healthy relationships. She believes in fostering a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences and emotions freely. By integrating various therapeutic modalities, Kristen tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs, helping them navigate challenges, build resilience, and ultimately achieve personal growth and healing. Her extensive experience includes helping clients adapt to the unique challenges from motor vehicle accidents, demonstrating her ability to address complex and specific issues. Education and Credentials
Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Alberta and a Master of Counselling Psychology Degree from Yorkville University. She is a Registered Psychologist, in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta.
