When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.

Philosophy and Approach
Daniela Vargas believes that therapy is not about changing who you are, but about creating a space where you can better understand yourself, explore your experiences, and discover your strengths. She recognizes that everyone has a unique story shaped by their relationships, experiences, and personal backgrounds. Daniela understands that opening up and seeking support can feel vulnerable, which is why she strives to create a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted.
Daniela believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. Her approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, collaboration, and respect, recognizing that clients are the experts of their own experiences. Having lived in Chile and Canada, she brings a multicultural perspective to her practice and values the role that culture, identity, and family play in emotional well-being. She is passionate about providing culturally responsive counselling in both English and Spanish, supporting clients in developing greater self-awareness, building resilience, and navigating life’s challenges with confidence and self-compassion.
Creating Meaningful Change
Daniela draws from several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She recognizes that every individual has unique experiences, strengths, and needs, and tailors her therapeutic approach to support each client’s personal goals. Whether someone is navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or past experiences, Daniela works collaboratively with clients to explore patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Her goal is to help clients develop greater self-awareness, build practical coping skills, and feel empowered to make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives.
Areas of Expertise
Daniela works with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. She supports clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, identity, faith-based counselling, religious trauma, and life transitions. She is passionate about helping individuals better understand themselves, develop healthy coping strategies, and build meaningful connections.
Daniela has a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating cultural identity, immigration, family dynamics, faith, and spirituality. She provides a supportive, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their beliefs, personal values, and experiences, including those related to religious trauma. With a multicultural background and experience living in Chile and Canada, Daniela values understanding how culture, identity, and personal experiences influence emotional well-being. She offers counselling services in both English and Spanish.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Alberta, and a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle.
