Philosophy and Approach

Hayley Rovensky believes that therapy isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about having a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and work through life’s challenges with someone who genuinely wants to understand your perspective. She knows that reaching out for support can feel intimidating, so she strives to create an environment that feels welcoming, relaxed, and free of judgment.

Hayley recognizes that clients are the experts of their own lives and she strives to work from a person-centred perspective. She values building strong therapeutic relationships based on trust, empathy, and authenticity, empowering clients to discover their strengths, gain new perspectives, and work toward meaningful and lasting change.

Creating Meaningful Change

Hayley draws from several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She adapts these approaches based on each client’s needs, recognizing that what works for one person may not work for another.

Whether someone is navigating anxiety, a major life transition, relationship challenges, or impactful past experiences, Hayley works collaboratively with clients to better understand what’s getting in the way and to identify practical strategies that support lasting change. Her goal is to help clients leave sessions feeling understood, supported, and equipped with tools they can use in their everyday lives.

Areas of Expertise

Hayley works with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. She supports clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, emotional regulation, and life transitions.

Alongside her counselling practice, Hayley has eight years of experience as an elementary school teacher. This has given her a strong understanding of child development, learning, emotional regulation, and the everyday challenges that children, teens, and families can face. She particularly enjoys supporting young people and parents as they work through concerns at home, at school, and in other areas of life. Hayley also offers counselling services in both English and French.

Education and Credentials

Hayley holds a Master’s degree in Counselling and is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is committed to continuing her professional development to ensure she provides thoughtful, evidence-based care that reflects current best practices.
